NextSense AI Ltd makes Brain Dump App. This policy explains what the app keeps on your device, what it sends when you choose an AI feature, and what limited operational records our backend maintains.
Brain Dump App is a productivity and thought-organization tool. It is not medical care, therapy, or a crisis service.
1. Information Processed by Brain Dump App
1.1 Content You Choose to Provide
Depending on the features you use, this can include:
- spoken audio and its transcript;
- text you type;
- photos or files you attach;
- the thought items, titles, and placements created from that content; and
- a short derived text prompt if you turn on the optional Visual Reflection feature.
1.2 App and Service Data
The app and backend can process:
- a pseudonymous, app-scoped identifier generated for your installation;
- signed-session, App Check, security, rate-limit, and abuse-prevention data;
- subscription and entitlement status needed to provide paid features;
- request status, model, voice mode, timestamps, and provider call identifiers for operational reliability; and
- technical diagnostics produced by the app or Apple platform services.
Brain Dump App does not use advertising trackers and does not sell your thought content or personal information.
2. Where Your Data Goes
2.1 On-Device Library
Your saved sessions, Thought Map items, trash, recovery data, and generated session images are stored in the app's local container. Brain Dump App does not currently provide cloud sync for this library. Local thought files use iOS Data Protection and are excluded from device backups.
2.2 AI and Infrastructure Providers
AI features require an internet connection and send only the data needed for the selected operation. The consent screen shown before the first AI request identifies these processors and data categories.
| Provider | Purpose | Data that may be sent |
|---|---|---|
| ElevenLabs | Speech transcription | Audio selected for transcription and request metadata |
| Google Cloud, Firebase AI Logic, and Gemini | Backend hosting, App Check, transcription, multimodal extraction, organization, and optional image fallback | Pseudonymous identifier, audio, text, selected images/files, structured context, and request metadata as required by the feature |
| Fal | Optional Visual Reflection generation | A derived text prompt only when you enable Visual Reflection |
| OpenAI | Experimental Live Voice organization if that feature is made available and you start it | Live audio, transcripts, provisional Thought Map state, tool events, and request metadata |
| Apple | StoreKit subscriptions, on-device frameworks, and platform diagnostics | Purchase and device/service data handled under Apple's terms |
Provider policies: ElevenLabs, Google Cloud, Firebase, Fal, OpenAI, and Apple.
We do not promise that a third-party processor has zero retention unless that is guaranteed by the service configuration and contract in effect for the request. Each provider may process operational, security, and abuse-prevention data under its applicable terms.
3. Our Backend Records
Our backend does not provide a cloud copy of your saved Thought Map library. It may retain limited records needed to operate the service, including the pseudonymous identifier, the hash of the latest signed session token, entitlement state, rate-limit records, deletion status, and Live Voice call metadata. Live Voice metadata does not include the transcript or Thought Map state in our application database.
Content can still be transmitted through our infrastructure and outside processors to complete an AI request. “Not stored as a cloud library” does not mean “never transmitted” or “never processed.”
4. Retention
- Local library and preferences: remain until you delete them in the app or uninstall the app.
- Temporary local audio and processing files: deleted by the app after processing or cancellation, subject to normal operating-system behavior and error recovery.
- Provider-processed data: governed by the provider terms and service configuration applicable to the request.
- Backend account, entitlement, security, rate-limit, and operational records: kept only as needed to operate, secure, and account for the service, and included in the in-app backend deletion request where applicable.
- Subscription records: maintained separately by Apple under your Apple Account.
5. Security
Brain Dump App uses encrypted network transport, signed app sessions, Firebase App Check, iOS Data Protection, and bounded backend authorization and rate-limit checks. No technical system can guarantee absolute security. Avoid entering information you do not want processed by the selected feature and provider.
6. Your Choices and Controls
- AI processing requires an explicit, versioned consent before the first AI request.
- Visual Reflection is off by default and can be changed in Account settings.
- If Live Voice becomes available, Quiet mode does not speak; Guided mode may ask a short question after a pause.
- You can edit or move AI-suggested Thought Map items.
- You can export individual items and delete sessions or items from the app.
Declining AI consent prevents cloud AI processing. Plain text may still be retained locally when the app cannot reach the organization service.
7. Deletion
Use Account → Data Management → Delete All Data to remove the app's local sessions, trash, recovery data, images, local identifiers, consent, statistics, and preferences, and to request deletion of associated Brain Dump backend records. If the backend portion cannot be verified, the app asks you to retry rather than claiming full deletion.
Uninstalling the app removes its local container but does not itself send a backend deletion request. Apple manages subscription and transaction records separately; cancel or manage a subscription through your Apple Account.
8. Children
Brain Dump App is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and respond appropriately.
9. Regional Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection. Because the saved Thought Map library is local, many access and deletion actions are available directly in the app. For backend or legal requests, contact us at bot@nextsense.ai. We may need information sufficient to verify and locate the applicable pseudonymous record.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the product, providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the date above and provide additional notice in the app when a change materially affects how user content is processed.
